Dr. Amrita Tailor
Scientific and Industry Advisory Board Member
Dr. Amrita Tailor is a strategic health leader whose work bridges evidence-based science and health information technology, with specialized expertise in the implementation and optimization of clinical decision support systems. She views healthcare organizations as complex, adaptive ecosystems rather than as simple technology-deployment sites. Her research produced a comprehensive framework that integrates human, organizational, and technological factors to help leaders assess readiness, overcome barriers, and achieve sustained adoption of evidence-based clinical workflows. Her work reshaped how healthcare systems approach digital transformation by demonstrating that organizational dynamics, not technology alone, determine success.
During her tenure as a lead scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Tailor guided the development and implementation of multiple high-impact, evidence-based guidelines with broad clinical, economic, and policy relevance. She specialized in converting research findings into actionable tools by synthesizing evidence from systematic reviews, patient data, and public health surveillance. Her work included creating algorithmic flowcharts, computable guidelines, and EHR-integrated tools that enable consistent digital implementation across varied healthcare environments.
Dr. Tailor’s contributions span evidence-based strategy development, clinical outcomes research, and health IT optimization. She brings a unique blend of scientific rigor, clinical understanding, and organizational insight that supports effective decision making and measurable improvements in care quality. She has earned multiple CDC awards for her leadership of multidisciplinary teams and for cultivating high-performance cultures through strategic talent development and inclusive management. Dr. Tailor holds a PhD in Health Sciences with a specialization in Health Leadership from Rutgers University and an MPH in Epidemiology from Emory University.
